The International Management Institute (IMI) has unveiled a new unified logo for its Delhi, Kolkata and Bhubaneswar campuses, bringing all three under a common visual identity. The move aims to strengthen the institution’s shared identity while retaining the legacy and individual histories of its campuses.

IMI, which was established in 1981 as India’s first corporate-sponsored business school, said the new logo reflects its common values, academic foundations and plans for the future. The institution is part of the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group.

The announcement comes as IMI undertakes broader changes in management education, including a revamped flagship Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) curriculum for the 2026-28 batch. The updated curriculum places greater emphasis on practical learning, artificial intelligence (AI), environmental, social and governance (ESG) themes, career-focused pathways and industry engagement.

IMI launches ‘One IMI’ identity for three campuses

The new logo replaces the separate campus-specific logos with a single identity for IMI Delhi, IMI Kolkata and IMI Bhubaneswar. According to the institute, the design represents the relationship between the institution and its students, the role of leadership in turning knowledge into action, and its commitment to academic excellence.

The dual ‘I’ in the logo represents the relationship between the institution and the individual, while the ‘M’ symbolises leadership connecting knowledge with action. The vertical form reflects stability, integrity and academic excellence.

The colour palette also carries specific meanings. Blue represents trust, intelligence and credibility, while red reflects passion, ambition and bold thinking.

Sanjiv Goenka, chairman of the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, said the unified identity reflects the strength of bringing the three campuses together while building on their established academic foundations.

Goenka said, “IMI has been an important part of our commitment to building institutions that shape future leaders and contribute meaningfully to the world of business. The vision of ‘One IMI’ reflects the strength of bringing our three campuses together through a shared identity while building on the legacy, values and academic foundations established over the years.”

He added, “The new identity is part of a larger transformation at IMI, which includes evolving the curriculum and introducing career-focused tracks to better prepare students for the changing world of business. As the institution enters its next chapter, our focus is on building on this strong foundation while remaining forward-looking and responsive to the needs of business and society.”

IMI revises PGDM curriculum for 2026-28 batch

The institute has also revamped its flagship PGDM curriculum for the 2026-28 batch to address changing business needs and the skills expected of future managers.

The revised curriculum focuses on practice-led learning, emerging areas such as AI and ESG, career-oriented pathways and closer engagement with industry. These changes reflect the growing importance of technology, interdisciplinary skills and sustainability in management education.

Suresh Ramanathan, CEO of IMI, said the new identity reflects the institution’s focus on innovation and its willingness to adapt to changing needs.

Ramanathan said, “I see the new identity as a reflection of what IMI has always stood for. To me, IMI represents a culture of innovation, the ability to relentlessly question assumptions, experiment and stay perpetually agile.”

He added, “As we bring our three campuses together under the vision of ‘One IMI’, this identity reflects both our shared legacy and our ambition to keep evolving with the times.”

IMI’s growth and global recognition

IMI said its broader evolution builds on a 45-year history of management education and industry engagement. Established in 1981, the institution expanded from its Delhi campus to Kolkata and Bhubaneswar, developing a wider network of students, alumni, faculty and industry partners.

IMI Delhi is ranked 90th globally in the Financial Times Masters in Management 2026 Ranking, marking its fifth consecutive year in the global top 100, according to the institute.

The unified logo is intended to reflect the institution’s shared identity across its three campuses as it continues to develop its academic programmes and strengthen its position in management education.
