With 18 years of corporate and over 15 years of academic experience, Mathew takes charge of IMI Delhi from August 3, 2026

International Management Institute (IMI) has announced the appointment of Jones Mathew as director of IMI Delhi, effective AUgust 3, 2026. The institute is part of the RP-Sanjiv Goneka Group and describes itself as India's first corporate-sponsored business school.
Mathew will be responsible for setting the strategic direction for IMI Delhi's academic and institutional growth. Drawing on his experience in both industry and academia, he will focus on aligning teaching at the institute with the changing requirements of the corporate sector.
The appointment comes as IMI Delhi seeks to evolve its approach to management education, with an emphasis on keeping programmes industry-focused and career-aligned. The institute also plans to strengthen its engagement with industry.
Commenting on the appointment, Suresh Ramanathan, CEO, IMI, said, “Management education is evolving quickly, and IMI Delhi is well positioned to build on the strong foundation it already has.
"Dr. Mathew's experience will be a valuable asset, particularly as we take forward our new curriculum and further strengthen our academic environment, deepen our industry partnerships, and create new opportunities for our students, while building IMI’s presence and visibility among industry ecosystems and the wider public. Speaking on his appointment, Jones Mathew, director, IMI Delhi, said, "It is a privilege to join IMI Delhi and take on the responsibility of leading an institution with a 45 year strong legacy in management education. Jones has 18 years of corporate experience and more than 15 years of academic teaching and administrative experience in marketing. He has worked with organisations including HCL Ltd., MECON, Yonex and Reebok India and holds a PhD from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), New Delhi.
Before joining IMI Delhi, he served as principal and head of institution at Great lakes institute of management, Gurgaon. During his tenure, the institution achieved AACSB and AMBA accreditations, NBA accreditation and a position among the NIRF top 50 management schools.
