Jadavpur University to hold own counselling for 150+ vacant BTech seats from October 13: Report

Jadavpur University BTech Counselling 2025: Students with JEE ranks up to 10,000 will be called for the independent counselling.
Jadavpur University has decided to conduct its own counselling to fill over 150 BTech seats lying vacant after the WBJEE counselling 2025. The university will conduct the final BTech admissions 2025 from October 13 to 15, according to a report by The Telegraph Online report.
Candidates can fill the application form for the vacant seats from September 25 through the official website. The last date to register for the BTech counselling is October 7.
Around 17 seats in electrical engineering and 11 seats in electronics engineering are still vacant. As per the report, the university said students with JEE ranks up to 10,000 will be called for the independent counselling.
The counselling process will be held in physical mode. Students with ranks up to 3500 in the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) have been admitted for various BTech courses through the centralised WBJEE counselling 2025 .

“This year, the opening rank in computer science and engineering was 49. Last year, it was 10. In the independent counselling, students with lower rankings will be admitted. The opening rank in electrical engineering this year is 384. This was within 200 last year,” the Telegraph Online quoted an official as saying.
Meanwhile, the university has suspended all academic activities in view of heavy rainfall and extensive waterlogging in different parts of the city. “Due to abnormal weather conditions, PhD Admission Interview and the PRC meeting of the Production Engineering Dept. scheduled on Wednesday (24.09.2025) is postponed,” the official circular read.
