As per the preliminary analysis of paper 2 by coaching firms FIITJEE and Aakash, students reported the paper to be moderately tougher, and lengthier than Paper 1.

The JEE Advanced is conducted for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) and is being held in two shifts today for students who attained top ranks in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. The first shift of Paper 1 of JEE Advanced 2021 was conducted from 9 am to 12 pm.
Paper 2 was held in the evening shift from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm and the total marks for the paper was 180. The paper had 57 questions in total with 19 questions in each subject, physics, chemistry and mathematics.
As per the analysis of coaching firms Aakash institute and FIITJEE, chemistry was categorized by students as easy to moderate, physics as moderate and mathematics as moderate to tough.
Chemistry questions in paper 2 were categorized as easy to moderate by candidates who appeared for the exam today. FIITJEE analysis said that weightage was given to chapters of Class 12, unlike paper 1, there were no direct questions in Inorganic chemistry.
Aakash institute labelled the multiple choice in all subjects under easy to moderate category, with a few of the questions as ‘hard’.

“Mathematics was moderately tough and the questions in mathematics had lengthy calculations. More questions from Calculus and Coordinate Geometry were asked in paper 2. Questions were asked from Functions, Limits, Continuity & Differentiability, Application of Derivatives, Definite Integral. In Co-ordinate Geometry, there were questions from Circle, Parabola & Ellipse and in Algebra, the questions from Permutation & Combination, Complex Numbers, Probability, Vectors, One question of Solution of Triangle in Trigonometry were asked,” said FIITJEE statement issued by Ramesh Batlish, head of FIITJEE Noida.
