NEW DELHI: According to coaching firms, the first shift exam of the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced (JEE Advanced 2021), students found the overall level of paper moderate to difficult but not easy.

For the preliminary JEE Advanced 2021 shift 1 paper analysis by FIITJEE and Aakash, students reported that physics was easy to moderate, chemistry was moderate, and maths relatively difficult. According to Aakash Institute, there was also a "slight change in the pattern with 57 questions in all i.e. 19 each from the three subjects".

The first shift of JEE Advanced 2021 exam concluded at 12pm and according to FIITJEE, the chemistry paper was "balanced" but mathematics was "tricky".

The JEE Advanced is conducted for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) and is being held in two shifts today for students who attained top ranks in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. The first shift of Paper 1 of JEE Advanced 2021 was conducted from 9 am to 12 pm.

“Chemistry was a balanced section with questions covering chapters of classes 11 and 12 equally. Inorganic Chemistry questions were directly from National Council of Educational Research and Training, [NCERT],”said a press release from FIITJEE.

“The topic coverage was full in physics, more or less complete in chemistry, whereas, there were very few questions from calculus.... Overall, it was an easy to moderate paper,” added the statement.

“Mathematics was tricky and difficult as per students. There were 2 questions from Matrices & Determinants. There were questions from Functions, Continuity & Differentiability, Application of Derivative, Definite Integrals. Some good questions were asked from chapters of Probability, Complex Numbers,3-D Geometry. Some Tricky questions asked from Circle & Parabola in Coordinate Geometry. A tricky question from Trigonometry was also asked. Students felt this section was the toughest with more weightage given to Class 11 chapters, “ said FIITJEE head, Noida, Ramesh Batleish in the statement.
