NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be releasing JEE Main cut-off 2021 after the conclusion of the May session. This year, the NTA is conducting JEE Mains 2021 in four sessions - February, March, April and May sessions. Though the authorities concluded the first two sessions, the April session has been postponed due to the ongoing second wave of COVID-19.

It may be noted that candidates understand two types of JEE Main cut-off marks - qualifying marks and admission cut-offs. After the conclusion of JEE Mains 2021, NTA shall release category-wise qualifying marks. Candidates having a score above JEE Main qualifying marks will be eligible to participate in the counselling process conducted by JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority).

How is JEE Main cut-off calculated?

There is a certain process followed by the authorities to prepare cut-off marks for JEE Mains. The NTA percentile obtained by candidates after normalization will be taken for preparing the cut-off. The following factors are taken into consideration for calculating JEE Main cut-off:

  • JEE Main2021 difficulty level for each session

  • Total number of candidates appeared in the exam

  • Previous year cut-off trends

  • Number of seats available in a particular institute

JoSAA counselling will be conducted in various rounds for admissions into IITs, IIITs, NITs, GFTIs. The authorities shall release JEE Main cut-off for each course and colleges. The opening and closing ranks within which admissions will be done through JEE Main 2021 shall prove the cut-off marks.
