NEW DELHI: The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main February 1 exam was held today in two shifts. The first shift concluded at 12 noon and the second shift at 6 pm. According to students' reactions and expert analysis, the JEE Main exam for shift 1 held in the morning shift today had moderate paper with equal weightage to Class 11 and Class 12 board exam syllabus.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has not announced the JEE Main 2023 result date yet. The JEE Main 2023 April session registrations will be available from February 7 to March 7 at JEE Main official website- jeemain.nta.nic.in. The JEE Main 2023 April session exam will be held from April 6 to 12, 2023.
The JEE Main 2023 cut-off will be announced along with the IIT JEE result and all India ranks. The top 2.5 lakh candidates will be able to register for JEE Advanced 2023 exam. The JEE advanced exam will be held on June 4, 2023. The JEE Advanced 2023 exam registrations will be open from April 10 to May 5, 2023.

NTA is yet to announce the JEE Mains 2023 results date. Once declared, candidates will be able to check it from the official website-- jeemain.nta.nic.in using their application number and date of birth.
The JEE Main 2023 result of candidates indulging in unfair means practices will be cancelled and will not be declared. Similarly, the result of those candidates who appear from the centre other than the one allotted to them or allow another candidate/person to write the examination on his behalf will be cancelled. The NTA has not mentioned any specific dress code for JEE Mains 2023. However, candidates are suggested to wear socks, plain pullover, sweaters, cardigans, ankle shoes, low heel shoes or sandals and to coordinate with invigilators during the frisking process. Candidates should also avoid carrying any barred items at the examination centre.

The level of difficulty as per feedback from students on the January 31 forenoon session exam-
Mathematics – Moderately Tough Level. Weightage was given to chapters of Algebra and Coordinate Geometry. Questions asked from Parabola, Ellipse, Definite Integrals, Area, Matrices, Probability, Statistics, Permutation & Combination, Determinants, Vectors, 3D Geometry, Complex numbers, Progression Series. Both MCQs and Numerical Based questions required lengthy calculations. This section was Lengthy & Tricky for a few students.
Physics – Easy level. Weightage is given to chapters on Kinematics, Rotational Motion, SHM & Waves, Gravitation, Heat & Thermodynamics, Wave Optics, Current Electricity, Electrostatics, AC Circuits, Modern Physics, Communication Systems, Semi-Conductors. Numerical-based questions were reported as Easy. This section was balanced overall.
Chemistry –Moderate Level. Physical Chemistry was given less weightage as compared to Organic & Inorganic Chemistry. Questions asked from Qualitative Analysis. d & f Block elements, Quantitative Analysis of Compounds, Environmental Chemistry, Chemistry in Everyday Life, Biomolecules, Hydrocarbons, Amines, Ethers & Phenols, Aryl & Alkyl halides , Chemical Equilibrium, Atomic Structure, Solutions, Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics. MCQs were tricky compared to Numerical Section.
In terms of order of Difficulty – Maths was Moderately Tough, Chemistry was Moderate Level, and Physics was Easy. Overall, this paper was Moderately Tough level as per students.

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main comprises two papers. Paper 1 is conducted for admission to undergraduate Engineering programmes (BE/BTech) at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), and Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments. IIT JEE Main 2023 exam is conducted for two papers, BE, BTech and BArch, BPlanning. JEE Main 2023 paper 1 BE, BTech will have three subjects. Each subject will have two sections - Section A will be of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and Section B will contain numerical-based questions. In JEE Main 2023 Section B, candidates have to attempt any five questions out of 10. There will be negative marking for both sections. All three subjects - mathematics, physics and chemistry - will have 20 questions in Section A and 10 questions in Section B, taking the total to 90 questions carrying 300 marks.

The JEE Main 2023 will be held for the BE, BTech, or paper 1, exam today in two shifts. The first shift will be held from 9 am to 12 noon and the second between 3 pm and 6 pm.
Female candidates who are appearing for the IIT JEE exam should also follow the JEE Main dress code 2023.
Candidates will have to hand over the JEE Main admit card 2023 to the invigilator at the end of exam. The JEE Main admit card which comes with an attached self-declaration undertaking must also be submitted. Candidates will also have to submit the rough pads used during JEE Main 2023 exam today.
