NTA provided the opportunity to the applicants after observing that the photographs uploaded by some candidates are not as per the required specifications. Students are required to upload the correct image in their JEE Main 2024 application form in order to avoid rejection of application.
As per NTA, the photograph of candidate should meet the following specifications:
- Recent photograph
- The size of the photograph should be passport size (10 kb to 200 kb)
- The recent photograph should be either in colour or black and white
- 80 percent face (without mask) of the candidate including ears should be visible
- The photograph should be clicked against a white background
- Spectacles are allowed only if being used regularly
- Polaroid and computer-generated photographs will not be accepted
The exam authority informed that JEE Main 2024 applications not complying with these instructions or with unclear photographs are liable to be rejected. Also, application forms without a photograph will be rejected.
Candidates don’t need to get the photographs attested. NTA advised them to keep six to eight passport size color photographs with white background.
“Candidates may note that if the photographs uploaded are found to be fabricated i.e. deshaped or seem to be hand-made or computer made, the application of the candidate will be rejected and the same would be considered as using Unfair Means and the candidate would be dealt with accordingly,” NTA warned applicants.
NTA allowed candidates to edit their application forms between December 6 and 8, 2023. JEE Main exam date 2024 for session 1 is January 24, 2024. The exams will continue till February 1.
