JEE Main admit card 2025 shows NTA tightening security, Here's how

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has implemented a security measure for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025, which focuses on Aadhaar-based authentication. This move by NTA aims to ensure accuracy and remove discrepancies in candidates' information to streamline the JEE Main 2025 exam process.

Candidates who registered for the JEE Main 2025 using Aadhaar details will have their identity verified at exam centers with the same document. For those who did not use Aadhaar card during registration or whose uploaded images do not match their actual appearance, the NTA has mandated the submission of a non-Aadhaar declaration form to appear in JEE Main 2025 exam.

JEE Main 2025 Aadhar Authentication: Addressing past issues

The Aadhaar authentication process JEE Main 2025 is aimed towards improving security and addressing past concerns. By using biometric-based identity verification, the NTA aims to ensure that only the registered candidates appear for the JEE Main 2025 exam, preventing impersonation and identity fraud.

This move comes in response to the criticism regarding security lapses, paper leak incidents and other malpractices associated with NTA that were reported last year.

The NTA was also very strict with its scrutiny of candidate photographs for the JEE Main 2025 application process. After identifying errors in the photos uploaded by candidates, NTA provided an opportunity for candidates to review and re-upload their photographs by January 17, to avoid the rejection of their applications.

JEE Main admit card 2025

The NTA has issued the JEE Main admit card 2025 for session 1 exams. The JEE Main 2025 admit card has been issued for January 22, 23 and 24 exams only. Registered candidates will be able to download the JEE Main admit card 2025 by visiting the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in.

The NTA official notice read, "Admit Cards for the candidates whose exams are scheduled on 28, 29 and 30 January 2025 will be released in due course. " Candidates will be required to enter their application number and password to download the JEE Main admit card 2025.

The JEE Main 2025 exam is scheduled from January 22 to 30. NTA has announced the JEE Main 2025 exam schedule that includes paper-wise dates and shift timings for session 1.

JEE Main 2025: Non-Aadhaar declaration form

Candidates who did not use Aadhaar details during registration or whose uploaded images do not match their actual appearance are required to submit a non-Aadhaar declaration.

The JEE Main 2025 non-Aadhaar declaration form asks candidates to provide details such as their name, parents' names, application ID, roll number, government ID proof and number, date, and shift details. Candidates are also required to indicate the reason for any mismatch in their image, selecting from options such as a blank or poor-quality image, an incorrect upload, or other discrepancies. NTA has asked the candidates to update their Aadhaar details to streamline verification at JEE Main 2025 exam centers.

Removal of Covid-19 clearance form

In addition to Aadhaar verification, the NTA has removed the mandatory COVID-19 self-declaration form from the JEE Main admit card 2025 requirements, as the health situation has improved. In previous years, candidates were required to submit health status and confirm that there are no COVID-19 symptoms before entering the JEE Main 2025 exam center. However, candidates are still required to update about their medical illness (if any) and encouraged to adhere to exam day guidelines.

Earlier, candidates had to attempt any five questions out of a total of 10 questions since JEE (Main) 2021. This change was introduced in Covid-19 pandemic and continued till the year 2024 for the JEE Main exam. However, now NTA has discontinued the optional questions in JEE Main 2025 . Accordingly, candidates are required to attempt all questions in Section B of the JEE Main 2025 exam.

JEE Main 2025: Recommendation for 'DIGI Exam’

The High level committee that reviewed the functioning of the NTA recommended for 'DIGI Exam ' that will focus on candidate authentication throughout the exam process.

The 'DIGI Exam' includes one-time entry of primary data, mandatory document uploads for identity verification, biometric data collection at the test centre, and continuous CCTV monitoring. Post-exam AI-based analysis of candidate photos, including cross-referencing images from the application, test centre, and CCTV footage, is also proposed to ensure security.
