NTA Exam Calendar 2025: JEE Main, NEET, CUET exam dates soon

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts several key national-level exams in India, including:

National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the University Grants Commission - National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) twice annually.

The NEET UG 2025 exam will be held offline in pen and paper mode. Candidates will have to mark their answers on the OMR sheet. The NEET 2025 question paper will have a total of 200 multiple-choice-questions, out of which only 180 are to be answered. The paper will be divided into three sections- physics, chemistry and biology. As per the latest marking scheme, candidates will get 4 marks for each correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for incorrect questions.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to conduct the CUET UG 2025 exam in the fourth week of May, in hybrid mode.

The duration of each paper is 3 hours, and candidates can attempt the exam in both January and April sessions.

JEE Main paper 2 marking scheme:

• Mathematics & Aptitude: Same as Paper 1 (MCQs and NVTs).
• Drawing: Marked based on the quality of drawings.

JEE Main Paper 2 (BArch/BPlanning) exam pattern is given below-

1. Mode:
   • Mathematics and Aptitude Test are in CBT mode.
   • Drawing Test (for B.Arch) is pen-and-paper-based.
2. Subjects:
   • For B.Arch: Mathematics, Aptitude Test, Drawing Test.
   • For B.Planning: Mathematics, Aptitude Test, Planning-based questions.
3. Number of Questions:
   • B.Arch: 82 questions (Mathematics: 30, Aptitude: 50, Drawing: 2).
   • B.Planning: 105 questions (Mathematics: 30, Aptitude: 50, Planning: 25).
4. Total Marks:
   • B.Arch: 400 marks.
   • B.Planning: 400 marks.

Marking Scheme:

• MCQs: 4 marks for each correct answer, -1 for each incorrect answer.
• NVTs: 4 marks for each correct answer, no negative marking for wrong answers.

The JEE Main 2024 exam pattern consists of three sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The pattern is divided into Paper 1 (for BE/BTech courses) and Paper 2 (for BArch/BPlanning courses).

Paper 1 (BE/BTech):

1. Mode: Computer-based test (CBT).
2. Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics.
3. Type of Questions:
   • Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
   • Numerical Value-Based Questions (NVTs).
4. Number of Questions:
   • Total: 90 questions (30 per subject).
   • 20 MCQs and 10 NVTs per subject (only 5 out of 10 NVTs need to be answered).
5. Total Marks: 300 marks (100 per subject).

The CUET UG, PG exams will be held in multiple shifts over several days. The detailed time tables will be shared later.

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) is likely to be held in offline, pen and paper mode. There will be 180 questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology for 720 marks.

The Goa board has recently revised the schedule for the Class 12 final examinations, considering the timing of the JEE Mains. “The board has carefully considered these concerns, recognizing that JEE 2025 is expected to conclude by the end of January, leaving insufficient time for students to adequately prepare for their Board exams,” the Goa board said in its notification.

The Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur recently launched "SATHEE CUET," an online platform designed to support students in preparing for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2025 and CUET PG 2025. As per last year's exam pattern, NEET UG exam will comprise four subjects. Each subject will consist of two sections. Section A will contain 35 questions and section B will have 15 questions. Candidates will be required to attempt any 10 questions. The detailed NEET UG exam pattern is as follows: 

The Common University Entrance Test undergraduate (CUET-UG) is conducted to facilitate admissions into central universities and other participating institutions. In 2025, the exam will be held in multiple shifts to accommodate an increased number of candidates.

Similar to last year, the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main will be held in two phases. This exam enables admissions to National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other participating technical institutes. It also acts as the qualifying exam for IIT JEE Advanced.

Educational Qualification:

• For BPlanning: Candidates must have passed 12th grade with Mathematics as a compulsory subject.

Year of Passing:

• Candidates should have passed their 12th class or equivalent examination in 2022, 2023, or should be appearing for it in 2024. 

Age Limit:

• There is no specific age limit for appearing in JEE Main. However, candidates must meet the age requirements of the institutes to which they seek admission.

The UGC NET marking scheme is structured as follows:

1. Correct Answer: +2 marks for each correct response.
2. Incorrect Answer: There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
3. Unanswered/Unattempted Questions: No marks will be awarded or deducted for questions that are left unanswered or unattempted.

This marking scheme applies to both Paper 1 and Paper 2 of the UGC NET exam.

There is no upper age limit to appear for CUET UG 2024. However, candidates must fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria established by the participating universities, which may include age requirements. It is advisable to review the specific eligibility criteria of the universities you are interested in.

While the National Testing Agency (NTA) has not officially announce the JEE Main exam date 2025, the session 1 exams will be held in the last week of January next year as per a Goa board notification wherein the board postponed exams to avoid clash with the engineering entrance exam. 

Last year, the application fee for the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) UG was Rs 1,700 for general and NRI applicants. Candidates belonging to the general-EWS and OBC-NCL categories will have to pay Rs 1,600 whereas SC, ST, PwBD, and third gender candidates will be required to make payment of Rs 1,000. 

Under JEE Main exam, a total of two papers are conducted. Paper 1 is for BE and BTech candidates while paper 2 is for BArch and BPlanning. Candidates aspiring for architecture should opt for paper 2A and those planning to study BPlan programme are advised to choose paper 2B. Students can also select both papers 2A and 2B.

The reporting process for admission to the seat allotted in the mop-up round of MCC NEET UG counselling 2024 has commenced today, October 14. As per the counselling schedule, candidates can report to the allotted institute by October 19. 

Candidates who have qualified Class 12 or equivalent examination irrespective of their age can appear in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. There is no age limit for the students to take the exam.
