JEE Main 2026 exam date revised for session 2; April BTech exams now from April 2 to 9

The NTA will conduct the JEE Main session 1 exams from January 21 to 30. Registration for the session 2 April exams is expected to begin in the last week of January 2026.

The first advisory on the national-level engineering entrance exam was published on September 29, urging aspirants to update their Aadhaar card details for smoother authentication of identity and to reduce malpractice. Following this, the NTA on October 19 announced the JEE Main exam dates 2026 for both session 1 and session 2 exams.
As per the initial announcement, the JEE Main session 1 exam was scheduled from January 21 to 30 and session 2 from April 1 to 10. However, the JEE Mains exam dates have been revised for session 2 in the recently published information brochure. Now, the engineering entrance exam will be held between April 2 to 9.
The NTA said it will commence the registration for the JEE Main January exams in October. Later, it hosted the JEE Main application form on the last date, October 31, on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in.

NTA revises JEE Main 2026 exam dates
The tentative registration date for the April session remains the same. The application process is expected to begin in the last week of January, mostly after the session 1 exams.

As per the latest update, the JEE results for the January session will be declared on February 12 and session 2 results will be announced on April 20.
Recently, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) urged all its schools to share the Class 11 registration numbers with the NTA to avoid a clash between the JEE Main exam dates and CBSE Class 12 board exams 2026. In other major change, the NTA has increased the number of exam cities from 284 to 323.
