Jharkhand TET 2024 application deadline extended till August 26; eligibility

NEW DELHI: The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC), Ranchi, has extended the last date to register for the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JHTET) 2024 till August 26, 2024. Eligible candidates can apply for the JHTET 2024 exam through the official website, jactetportal.com.
“JHTET 2024 Application Form Filling last date has been extended till 26-AUG-2024 23:59HRS,” reads the notification. The board will announce the JHTET 2024 exam dates on the official website soon. The JHTET 2024 exam will have two papers including paper 1, paper 2
To register for the JHTET 2024, candidates from the unreserved (UR), economically backward class (EBC), and economically weaker sections (EWS) category will have to pay Rs 1,300 for each paper or Rs 1,500 for both. Candidates from scheduled caste (SC), scheduled tribe (ST), and persons with disabilities (PwD) candidates should pay Rs 700 per paper or Rs 800 for both. Primitive tribe candidates pay Rs 500 per paper or Rs 600 for both.

JHTET 2024: Eligibility criteria
Candidates can check the JHTET 2024 eligibility criteria for both papers given below.
For Paper 1:

Candidates should have passed Class 12 or higher secondary or equivalent exams and have the following educational qualifications:

Two-year Diploma in Education (DEd) in Special Education in any category of disability, OR
-
One-year Diploma in Special Education (DSE) in any category of disability, OR
-
Diploma in Community-Based Rehabilitation (DCBR) with a 6-month Certificate Course in Education of Children with Special Needs, OR
-
Post Graduate Diploma in Community Based Rehabilitation (PGDCBR) with a 6-month Certificate Course in Education of Children with Special Needs.
For Paper 2:

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree along with a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education. Or
-
Candidates should have a graduate degree (or equivalent) or postgraduate degree with at least 50% marks and a Bachelor of Education (BEd). Or
-
Candidates should have a graduate degree (or equivalent) with at least 45% marks and a BEd or equivalent training course obtained as per the National Council for Teacher Education.
The Jharkhand TET 2024 is held for candidates aspiring to secure teaching positions in Jharkhand Government schools. To teach Classes 1 to 5, candidates must qualify for Paper I, while passing Paper II is required to teach Classes 6 to 8.
