Jamia Millia Islamia: JMI will conduct 2nd semester exams for all undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programmes from November 16 to 21 in offline mode only.
The Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) will restart offline classes from November 10 onwards, the university said in its latest statement. JMI will conduct 2nd semester examinations for all undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programmes from November 16 to 21 in offline mode only.
Moreover, JMI’s teaching and non-teaching staff have welcomed the university administration’s decision to resolve the dispute over students’ elections, and described it as a step towards restoring democratic expression on campus, at its thanksgiving programme held today.
JMI students held a victory march on campus today to celebrate the restoration of the Jamia Millia Islamia Students' Union (JMISU) after nearly 20 years.
For the past 18 days, the university saw protests by students demanding the reinstatement of the Jamia Millia Islamia Students’ Union (JMISU) and the announcement of a schedule for its elections.
JMI Students’ Union Deadline
Fulfilling the students’ demand, the administration has set May 15, 2027, as the deadline for finalising the students’ union constitution. The university will also withdraw all pending show-cause notices, disciplinary proceedings, rustication, suspensions, and campus ban orders linked to the protest period.
Also, students are required to attend classes and sit for examinations as per the timetables and guidelines issued by their respective departments and faculties. The university has made regular attendance compulsory and instructed students to follow all academic rules and regulations.
Deans, heads of departments, directors of centres, and other relevant authorities have been instructed to ensure the smooth conduct of offline classes and examinations, including arrangements for classrooms, seating, and invigilation.
