JMI, Taiwan Economic Cultural Centre join hands to strengthen academic collaboration

This agreement will strengthen JMI's partnership with other Taiwanese institutions and will enable the two institutions to expand their collaborative efforts.
NEW DELHI: Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) and Taiwan Economic Cultural Centre (TECC) have collaborated to strengthen academic collaboration for teaching and learning of Mandarin Chinese at the university. In addition to strengthening JMI's partnership with other Taiwanese institutions of higher education and research, this agreement will enable the two institutions to expand their collaborative efforts.
The agreement was signed by Professor Nazim Husian Al-Jafri, registrar, JMI and Peters Chen, director, education division, TECC, New Delhi in the presence of Professor Najma Akhtar, Vice-Chancellor, JMI and H.E. ambassador Baushuan Ger, representative, Taiwan, economic and cultural centre in India.

Professor Najma Akhtar expressed her desire to set up a Taiwan studies center in the university in collaboration with the government of Taiwan to engage extensively with various domains of knowledge and emerging technologies.

On this occasion, Baushuan Ger said: "The opportunities that the learning of Mandarin Chinese would open up for Indian students who would have prospects of placement in Taiwanese small and medium-sized companies that are exploring investment opportunities in India."
