JNU to reopen in phased manner from September 6
College reopen news: JNU has decided to reopen for physical classes for all PhD students from September 6 following SOPs by DDMA.

NEW DELHI: The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has decided to reopen colleges in phased manner starting with physical classes for PhD students from September 6 with 50% capacity, JNU said on social media.
“All final-year PhD research scholars, including 9B students (both hostellers and day-scholars) who are required to submit their PhD theses on or before December 31, 2021, are allowed to enter into the campus,” a statement from JNU said.
JNU statement said that all PwD (persons with disabilities) students of the PhD programme are allowed to enter into the campus.

On arrival at the campus, students will have to show a negative test report of COVID-19 RT-PCR test, JNU statement said.
Students will have to fill-up and submit self-declaration forms and follow strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) released by Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), JNU statement said.
Dr B R Ambedkar Central Library in JNU will be sanitised and seating arrangements of reading halls for 50% capacity have been made, JNU statement said.
While the classes will continue in blended mode (offline and online), school or centre level libraries will remain closed, the statement from JNU said.

JNU statement further said that no student or teacher will be allowed in the campus without a face-mask and students, teachers from containment zones will not be allowed to visit campus.
Sanitisation and cleaning of the premises will be done regularly, the statement added.
Earlier, JNU had stated that they are considering reopening of college for physical classes and will announce a decision soon.
