Lakshya Mittal receives Dr BC Roy Memorial honour at UDFCON 2025

NEW DELHI: Lakshya Mittal, national president of United Doctors Front (UDF), was awarded the Dr BC Roy Memorial Honour at the UDFCON 2025 national medical conference held on May 4, 2025, at the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi.

The award was presented by Union minister for youth affairs and sports and minister for labour and employment, Mansukh Mandaviya. He referred to Mittal as one of his “favourite youth doctors” from his time as Union health minister and noted his role in bringing together doctors for discussions on healthcare reform.

Lakshya Mittal, who served as the organising chairman of UDFCON 2025, was recognised for his role in steering the conference to focus on key issues, including the Central Residency Scheme 1992, the sanctity of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) examination, mental health of medical students, and UDF’s advocacy for a Tobacco-Free Bharat and Obesity-Free Bharat. These initiatives align with the Fit India Movement of the Government of India.

The event was attended by National Medical Commission chairman BN Gangadhar and deputy director general (ME) of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, B Srinivas, who congratulated Mittal and acknowledged UDF’s growing influence in national medical policymaking.

The conference included participation from medical professionals, policy experts, legal advisors, and students. It event also featured award presentations and the release of policy documents.
