LSA gives J-K law students internship opportunities in courts across India: Report

NEW DELHI: Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authority (LSA) will offer opportunities to Jammu and Kashmir law students to carry out internships in the courts across the nation, The Dispatch reported.

Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey, Judge, High Court of J&K and Ladakh announced the news during the Moot Court Competition (provincial- Kashmir), 2021, the report said.

Justice Magrey is also the Executive Chairman, J&K LSA and member NALSA. He added that LSA will also offer an opportunity to winners of the Moot Court to work along with the Judges of the High Court of J&K and Ladakh, the report said.

He said that these law schools play an important role in refining the talented students to turn them into good lawyers, the report said.

While elaborating the objective of Moot Courts, the Justice explained that it is a good platform to make best out of the talent. He said that it imparts the knowledge and conduct in courts of law and above all the strength of drafting, pleading, convincing and research skills among them, as per the report.

Justice Magrey also said that the participation in competitions improves the skill set of students. He said that it not only enhances discussion and debate skills but other skills. He urged the students to choose the field of law according to their will with a positive state of mind, the report said.

Justice Magrey encouraged the female law students to adopt this profession with complete strength and will power. Sky's the limit for them in this profession, he said. He further asked the students not to feel disheartened but rather find motivation from the best legal professionals who preceded them.

At last, Justice Magrey urged all the students to work hard and help in reforming the society from all social evils, especially the drug menace.

The School of Law, University of Kashmir won the competition held from November 8, the report further said.
