MP nursing colleges face NSUI allegations over missing faculty, forged certificates; inquiry sought

Bhopal: The NSUI, the students' wing of the Congress, on Sunday alleged several anomalies in nursing colleges run by the Madhya Pradesh government, including the absence of principals, vice-principals, and the necessary faculty. Alleging that some colleges had submitted forged or fabricated experience certificates of faculty members, the National Students' Union of India (NSUI) demanded a high-level inquiry and warned of an agitation if action was not taken.

NSUI state vice-president Ravi Parmar claimed during a press conference here that six government nursing colleges were operating without principals, ten without vice-principals, and numerous more lacked the faculty required under the Madhya Pradesh government's 2018 recognition regulations. Some colleges had submitted forged or fabricated experience certificates of faculty members for recognition for the 2026-27 academic session, he alleged.

He said applications for recognition had been submitted by 22 government nursing colleges, of which three were not granted recognition. An advocate told the press conference that the NSUI had filed a petition in the Madhya Pradesh High Court seeking an inquiry into the alleged irregularities and action against those responsible. The 2018 rules prescribe minimum faculty requirements for nursing colleges, including a principal, vice-principal, two associate professors and other teaching staff for an intake of 30 students, another advocate added.
