The Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India has called for all admissions to be processed by November 30 to avoid further academic disruptions.
NEW DELHI: In a significant development for students interested to pursue Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Pharmacology, the State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has lifted the ban on the admission process for the Maharashtra BPharm and MPharm programmes. The admissions had been suspended since October 25, but following a recent directive from the state government, the suspension has now been officially revoked.
CET Cell has announced that the notification regarding the further process will be published soon on the official website, cetcell.mahacet.org.
"The suspension given to the ongoing admission process of the courses under the Department of Technical Education and Post Graduate Degree in Pharmacy has been lifted", CET Cell notification read.
"All the candidates, parents and institutions are informed that the notification regarding the further process will be published soon on the official website of this office. Accordingly candidates and organizations should visit the official website www.mahacet.org regularly", the notification added.
Concerns over academic loss due to delayed admissions
Amid ongoing delays in the admission process for Maharashtra's Bachelor and Master’s degree programs in Pharmacology, students are facing significant academic losses. This disruption has raised concerns about the future of students prospects, prompting urgent need for the completion of the Centralized Admission Process (CAP).

The delay has sparked widespread concern about students suffering academic loss due to the prolonged admission process. In light of this, the Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI) has urged the government to complete the admissions as soon as possible. APTI has called for all admissions to be processed by November 30, 2024, to avoid further academic disruptions.
"All admissions should be processed by 30/11/2024. Also it will be convenient for the colleges to do the remaining seats at the institute level. So that the admission process of the students will be completed and the students will not suffer any educational loss", APTI said.
According to APTI, completing the admissions by the end of November is crucial for students to begin their academic year without any further setbacks.
CAP schedule needs to be declared soon: APTI President
"The schedule needs to be declared as soon as possible. It is only information about the starting process so far. The government should release the final CAP round without further delay, as one month has already passed. We strongly urge the authorities to follow the earlier practice to avoid any further inconvenience to students," the APTI President said.
APTI has also recommended that colleges be allowed to process the remaining vacant seats at the institute level. This move would help speed up the admissions process, ensuring that students are not left behind due to the delayed CAP rounds.
