Maharashtra Polytechnic Admission 2026: Over 1.45 lakh registered so far; DTE extends application deadline

More than 1.45 lakh candidates have registered so far for Maharashtra’s polytechnic admissions, the state’s Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Dada Patil said. Additionally, the deadline for submitting applications for Maharashtra’s 1st-year diploma engineering Polytechnic Centralised Admission Process (CAP) has also been extended till July 2.
Previously, the last date for application submission was June 22, 2026.
The Maharashtra government has decided to extend the deadline after considering the increasing response from students and the delays faced in obtaining various necessary certificates.
Education Minister Patil noted that 1,45,708 candidates had registered by the initial deadline, with 1,15,053 students having paid the fees and submitted their applications for approval.

Minister further explained that the registration extension was granted to provide students with additional time to secure the required documents and certificates and to enable a greater number of students to participate in the admission process, the official press release added.
Maharashtra Polytechnic Admission 2026: Merit list by July 8
Candidates with valid Class 10 or SSC scores can apply for engineering diploma admissions.
Eligible students can visit the website dte.maharashtra.gov.in and apply for Maharashtra Polytechnic admissions 2026. As per the admission schedule, the provisional Maharashtra Polytechnic 2026 merit list will be uploaded on July 4, and the final list will be published by July 8.
