MBA Admission via CAT 2021: How to get into IIMs; Selection criteria, Cut off

Use NowNEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad will conduct the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2021 on November 28, 2021. Candidates aiming for IIM admission must aim to get 99+ percentile in CAT 2021 for old IIMs and between 95-99+ percentile for the new IIMs. After the conduct of CAT 2021, IIMs will determine the CAT cut off 2021 and on its basis, IIMs will call candidates to attend the further rounds of IIM admission into MBA/ PGDM and other post graduate management programmes.

Approximately 2.31 lakh candidates have registered for CAT 2021. With such a high number of candidates appearing for CAT this year and limited seats at IIM, the competition will be tough. However, with good CAT preparation , one can crack CAT 2021 with a good score. According to recent media reports, CAT 2021 is likely to have fewer questions and the format of the test will remain the same as last year.
As per the CAT paper pattern , there will be three shifts of 2-hour examination comprising three sections - Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Ability, and Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning. Candidates will be given 40 minutes for each section, PwD candidates will get 13 minutes and 20 seconds extra for each section.
MBA Admission at IIMs via CAT 2021
Indian Institute of Management admission process will take place tentatively in February 2022 which includes shortlisting of candidates on the basis of Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion rounds (GD), and personal interview (PI). In view of the COVID-19 crisis across the country, the selection round for IIM admission 2022 will be conducted online.
IIM Admission Criteria 2021-2022
The admission criteria of IIMs vary from one institute to another. However, there are few common procedures followed by all IIMs. So, for most of the IIMs, the admission criteria involve two steps as briefed below

The candidates should score required cut off percentile in the CAT examination

Based on the acquired CAT 2021 score and cutoff percentile, the candidates will be shortlisted for Analytical Writing Test (AWT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI)

The final MBA admission at IIMs will be confirmed based on the overall score secured in all stages such as CAT score, AWT, GD and PI

IIM CAP Cut Off 2021
IIM CAP cut off is the minimum CAT percentile required to be obtained by the candidates in order to be eligible for the further selection process such as WAT/ PI round of the respective institutes
