NEW DELHI: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has issued guidelines to resign from round 1 and 2 NEET PG counselling 2024. Candidates who have been allotted a seat in either rounds will be able to resign from their seat by December 26 through the official website, mcc.nic.in.
The move from the medical authority came after it received several representations from NEET PG aspirants seeking to withdraw from their allotted seats.
NEET PG candidates who were freshly allotted seats in round-2, but are willing to resign can vacate their seat with forfeiture of security deposit within stipulated time of resignation.
Besides, candidates who got their allotment upgraded and joined in round-2 will also be allowed to resign from their seat with forfeiture of security deposit within stipulated time of resignation.
Candidates will have to report physically at the allotted college to resign from their seat. “Furthermore, candidates are advised to ensure that their Resignation Letter is generated online (through a portal provided by MCC) by the allotted college, failing which the resignation will be treated as ‘Null & Void’,” the MCC said.

NEET PG 2024: Round 3 seats
The MCC informed the PG medical colleges that the intramcc portal for contribution of seats for round-3 NEET PG counselling 2024 is now open. It further instructed the medical colleges to add seats on the portal, intramcc.nic.in, for the places where there is an increase of seats by National Medical Council (NMC) post completion of NEET PG round 2 counselling 2024.
“The fresh LoPs as well as new seats received due to appeals may be contributed on intramcc portal. It may be noted that colleges should not contribute the seats remaining vacant after Round-2 due to ‘Non Reporting’/ ‘Cancellation’/ ‘Resignation’ or those which have already been contributed in earlier rounds as such seats are already in system,” the committee added.
Contributing such vacant seats again will lead to duplication of seats in the NEET PG seat matrix. Hence, the MCC has directed the colleges to update on the portal by 5 pm on December 24.
