MHRD Chief Innovation Officer Abhay Jere appointed Vice Chairman of AICTE

Dr Jere is appointed for a period of 3 years or till attaining the age of 65 years. He is instrumental in creating a network of innovation councils.
NEW DELHI: Dr Abhay Jere, chief innovation officer at the government ministry of human resources development (MHRD) has been appointed as the Vice Chairman of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). According to an official notification from the ministry of education, the government of India, Dr Jere has been appointed for a period of three years or till attaining the age of 65 years.
As per the Ministry of Education (MoE) release, "Dr Abhay Jere was the Chief Innovation Officer at the Government Ministry of Human Resources Development. In a notification issued by the Ministry of Education, Govt. Of India, dated 10th February, 2023, Dr. Abhay Jere is appointed for a period of three years w.e.f. the date of assumption of charge, or till attaining the age of 65 years or until further orders, whichever is the earliest."
Dr Jere is instrumental in creating a network of innovation councils. In 6500 educational institutions, Indian Innovation Councils (IICs) facilitate the creation of local innovation ecosystems as well as the creation of startup companies during research initiatives through the MoE.

He also recently contributed to developing the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) MBA program in 'Innovation and Entrepreneurship'. His columns appear in well-known English and local newspapers to raise awareness of innovation and entrepreneurship among Indians.
