MP NEET PG Counselling 2024: Court case
Earlier, the former state chairman of FAIMA MP, Akash Soni, explained that the exam authorities added incentivised marks to the raw scores of in-service candidates. After adding the incentivised marks, the merit of these candidates was normalised, which led to a situation where candidates ranked higher in the All India Quota (AIQ) were ranked lower in the state merit list.
The MP high court then directed the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) to prepare a fresh MP NEET PG round 1 merit list by first normalising the scores before adding the incentivised marks.
However, the Supreme Court upheld the Madhya Pradesh High Court's decision to cancel the NEET PG state merit list. The stay was issued more than a week after the High Court had allowed the resumption of MP NEET PG counselling 2024, following the revision of the state merit list. The MP NEET PG round 1 seat allotment result was announced on December 19, 2024.
