MUHS will re-conduct the 2nd-year MBBS Pharmacology-1 paper on December 19 due to a confirmed paper leak on the examination day.
NEW DELHI: The Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) is taking stringent actions after several medical examination papers were leaked during the Winter 2024 Phase-II exams. The breach involved the Pharmacology-I paper on December 2 and the Pathology-II paper on December 9, 2024. A high-level inquiry has been initiated, and new question papers for upcoming exams will be sent online.
The university confirmed that several question papers for the second-year MBBS exams, including Pharmacology-I (December 2) and Pathology-II (December 9) were leaked prior to their scheduled examination dates.
According to the MUHS, a few hours before the exam, it received an email claiming that the question paper was already out. Following this, the university quickly dispatched a new set of question papers to examination centres via email, allowing the exam to proceed as scheduled.
As per the university, it had three separate sets of question papers for the subject making it possible to make the last minute change.

Question papers of December 11, 13, 19 exams to be sent online
In wake of paper leaks, MUHS has decided to adopt a new procedure for future exams. The question papers for the upcoming Microbiology exam on December 11, Pathology-II on December 13, and a retest of the Pharmacology-I exam on December 19 will all be sent to the examination centers online. This step aims to prevent further breaches and maintain the integrity of the examination process.
"A high level committee has been formed at the university, while the concerned colleges have also appointed panels to probe these leaks. Offenses have been registered at the local police stations and the cyber cell to further investigate the matter," MUHS Registrar said in a statement.
"It's not possible to deliver question papers online for all the tests, as some centres don't have adequate printing facilities. This is being done on pilot basis," a varsity official said.
7,939 students registered for second-year MBBS exams
The Winter 2024 phase-2 medical exams are being held at 50 examination centres across Maharashtra. A total of 7,939 students are registered for the second-year MBBS (CBME-2019) exams. Despite the paper leaks, the university has ensured that all exams are being conducted in a secure and fair manner.
MUHS has expressed its regret over the inconvenience caused by the leaks and reassured students that further security measures are being put in place to ensure the integrity of future exams.
