MU UG 2026 admission: Reservation policy and special provisions
The reservation policies are in line with government norms for undergraduate admissions. The distribution includes 13% for scheduled castes (SC), 7% for scheduled tribes (ST), 19% for other backward classes (OBC), 10% for economically weaker sections (EWS), and 10% for socially and educationally backward classes (SEBC). In addition, other categories such as nomadic tribes (NT) and denotified tribes (DT) are also allotted reserved seats as per applicable rules.
Apart from category-based reservations, several special provisions have been introduced to ensure inclusivity. These include 30% reservation for women and 5% for persons with disabilities. Special consideration is given to children of freedom fighters and ex-servicemen, along with quotas for sports achievers. Additionally, affiliated colleges may have a 15% management quota, while preference is also extended to students with achievements in (NCC) and (NSS).
