Naval Education Society holds conference; decides to implement NEP 2020 at its schools

Chairman NES vice admiral Krishna Swaminathan presented rolling trophies to Naval Children Schools that excelled during the last academic year.
NEW DELHI: The annual Navy Education Society (NES) conference 2023 was conducted at Porbandar, Gujarat, on November 9 and 10. The society has agreed to implement the National Education Policy (NEP 2020).
The decision was taken by the executive committee, management advisory committee and academic advisory committee of the NES. The committees also deliberated on the policy framework for naval schools.
The conference was chaired by vice admiral Krishna Swaminathan, who is also the chief of personnel and chairman of the NES. It was attended by commodore G Rambabu, who is vice chairman of the NES. For the first time ever, representatives of naval kindergartens from various naval stations also took part in the conference.
On the occasion, Chairman NES presented rolling trophies to schools that excelled in academics during the last academic year. Addressing the delegates, Swaminathan appreciated the role played by NCSs in imparting quality education to children of naval personnel.
He exhorted all stakeholders to continue investing in state-of-the-art infrastructure and faculty development, to facilitate a conducive learning environment that motivates children to imbibe life skills and excel in academics and co-curricular activities. A guided tour of Navy Children School Porbandar was also organised for the delegates.

The NES operates Naval Children School at various naval bases across the country. The main objective of NES is to impart a high standard of education to the children of naval personnel. It also establishes and operates educational institutions including nursery, primary, secondary and senior secondary schools at different stations in the country on sound educational lines and in conformity with the broad policies of the union government.
