NEW DELHI: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NEMS) has given another opportunity to the FMGE qualified candidates to collect their pass certificates. All such candidates who have qualified the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) in the June and December sessions last year can collect their FMGE pass certificates from the office by August 8.

The board has extended the deadline to collect certificates after some candidates represented before NBEMS for another opportunity. The qualified students were earlier given a last chance to collect their certificates by February 28. However, some of them failed to collect their certificates upon which their candidature was cancelled.

“Accordingly, all such FMGE qualified candidates who have failed to collect their FMGE Pass Certificates in response to NBEMS notice dated 17.10.2023 are being given another opportunity to collect the same latest by 30th August 2024,” said NBEMS in an official notice.

“Further, the last date for collection of FMGE Pass Certificates for December 2023 session is also extended from 6th August 2024 to 30th August 2024. The clause 10.7 of the information bulletin for FMGE December 2023 and entry slips issued to collect Pass Certificates should be read accordingly,” the medical board added.

FMGE pass certificates

NBEMS informed that the FMGE qualified and eligible candidates will have to seek prior appointment from it to collect their FMGE pass certificates by sending a request at the Communication Web portal (CWP). Students are required to be present at NBEMS office as per their scheduled appointment to collect their pass certificates. Candidates will be informed about the documents to be brought during the scheduling of their appointment.

The medical board iterated that the pass certificate will be issued only on production of prescribed documents and on verification of identity, including biometrics/face ID, as applicable.

“The Pass Certificates shall not be issued to any authorized representative or any person other than the candidate himself/herself under any circumstances,” it stated.

In case a foreign medical graduate who has not collected his or her FMGE pass certificate till date fails to collect the same even by August 30, it will be assumed that he or she does not possess the required documents to fulfill eligibility and therefore, his or her candidature would continue to remain cancelled or stand cancelled, the board said further. No further opportunity to claim the FMGE pass certificate will be provided to the candidates.
