NEET 2024 Result: 2,321 candidates score 700 or above, says MoE report

Download EBookNEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the city and center-wise results for the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) 2024 yesterday, July 20, in accordance with the Supreme Court's directions in the ongoing NEET case. As per the data from Ministry of Education (MoE), a total of 23.33 lakh candidates appeared for NEET 2024, with 2,321 achieving 700 marks or higher.
As per MoE, these NEET 2024 high scorers were distributed across 1,404 examination centers both within the country and internationally. These NEET 2024 centers were located in 276 cities and 25 states, UTs. On July 22, the Supreme Court will resume hearing arguments on several petitions requesting the cancellation, re-exam, and a court-supervised investigation into alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG 2024 exam, conducted on May 5.
Over 4,000 candidates from Sikar centers scored above 600 marks
As per NEET 2024 centre-wise result statistics, in Rajasthan's Sikar , over 75 candidates from each center achieved scores above 600, with some centers reporting up to 150 high scorers. An analysis of the NEET 2024 center-wise results reveals that the average number of candidates scoring above 600 in Sikar exceeds the national average. Highlighting about the number of high scorers in NEET 2024 from traditional hubs, the MoE report stated, "It is true that many students appearing from traditional tuition hubs like Sikar, Kota and Kottayam were able to score 700 or more marks. However, the silver lining is that many students appearing from other cities were also able to come within this bracket."
NEET Result 2024: Distribution of high scorers across cities
Highlighting about the distribution of top scorers, the MoE press release states, “For example, 35 students appearing from Lucknow, 27 students appearing from Kolkata, 25 students appearing from Latur, 20 students appearing from Nagpur, 19 from Faridabad, 18 from Nanded, 17 from Indore, 16 each from Cuttack and Kanpur, 14 each from Kolhapur, Noida, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, 13 each from Agra and Aligarh, 10 each from Akola and Patiala, 8 from Davangere, 7 from Banaskantha, etc. were able to score 700 or more marks. It appears that aligning the syllabus of NEET with that of higher secondary has started to bear fruits.”
NEET 2024 Result Analysis: Marks-wise distribution
According to MoE, similar observations has been noted for other marks ranges in NEET 2024. The MoE provided the following statistics regarding the NEET 2024 results:
- 650 to 699 Marks: Candidates are spread across 509 cities and 4,044 centers.
- 600 to 649 Marks: Candidates are distributed across 540 cities and 4,484 centers.
- 550 to 599 Marks: Candidates are present in 548 cities and 4,563 centers.
NEET 2024 Result: Rank-wise distribution
The rank-wise distribution of NEET 2024 results as per MoE reports are as follows
- Ranks 1 to 100: Candidates are spread across 56 cities and 95 centers.
- Ranks 101 to 1000: Candidates are distributed across 187 cities and 706 centers.
- Ranks 1001 to 10000: Candidates span 431 cities and 2,959 centers.
- Ranks 10001 to 50000: Candidates are spread across 523 cities and 4,283 centers.
- Ranks 50001 to 110000: Candidates are present in 546 cities and 4,542 centers.
- Ranks 110001 to 150000: Candidates are distributed across 539 cities and 4,470 centers.
Comparison with NEET 2023 results
According to the MoE, the distribution of NEET 2023 top scorers across cities and centres was somewhat less compared to NEET 2024. The NEET 2023 result statistics are mentioned below.

700 to 720 Marks (NEET 2023): Spread across 116 cities and 310 centers.

650 to 699 Marks (NEET 2023): Spread across 381 cities and 2,431 centers.

600 to 649 Marks (NEET 2023): Present in 464 cities and 3,434 centers.
