The Telangana High Court has earlier dismissed a plea to postpone the postgraduate medical entrance exam. It has asked the National Medical Commission (NMC) to reconsider the exam date and aspirants filed a separate petition in the Supreme Court.

However, the union minister of health and family welfare (MoHFW) Mansukh Mandaviya earlier in February told the Lok Sabha that NEET PG 2023 will not be postponed as deferring it would further delay the exam and counselling process caused due to Covid-19.
The union health ministry has extended the MBBS internship cut-off date to August 11 for NEET PG 2023. The National Board of Examinations for Medical Sciences (NBSEMS) has extended the mandatory internship cut-off date twice. First, it was extended from March 31 to June 30, 2023.
