No NEET PG paper leak in Jaipur; NBEMS orders probe into power outage

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has constituted a three-member committee to investigate the internal power supply failure that disrupted the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test postgraduate, NEET PG 2026 examination at two iON Digital Zone centres in Sitapura, Jaipur, sources told PTI. The examination could not be completed at the affected centres due to the power supply disruption, affecting candidates who were appearing for the postgraduate medical entrance examination on August 30. The committee comprises a senior Rajasthan government official, a joint secretary-level officer from the Union Health Ministry and a senior engineering official from the Central Electricity Authority. It will examine the circumstances leading to the power failure and ascertain the reasons for the disruption.

The announcement comes after NBEMS announced a fresh examination for 2,445 candidates affected by the disruption. The re-examination will be held on September 5 at 3 pm in Jaipur.

NEET PG paper leak claims 'misleading': PIB

NBEMS has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to the candidates and said the re-examination is being conducted to ensure they receive a fair opportunity. Meanwhile, the Press Information Bureau's Fact Check unit on Sunday termed misleading social media posts claiming that the NEET-PG question paper had been leaked in Jaipur.

"There has been no question paper leak in the NEET-PG examination," PIB Fact Check said, adding that the disruption at the iON Digital Zone iDZ Sitapura centres was caused by internal power supply issues.

Social media posts had claimed that the NEET-PG question paper was leaked at a Jaipur examination centre, with some posts also referring to disruptions at the centres. PIB Fact Check urged people to report misleading content related to the government through its WhatsApp number or email.
