The number of NEET PG seats has risen from 31,185 in 2014 to 70,645 as of now, according to a written response from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in Lok Sabha in February this year. Over the past five years, the number of postgraduate seats increased from 39,583 in 2018-19 to 64,059 in 2022-23, as stated by the former Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya in his reply.
Several candidates from NEET PG 2024 have filed a petition in the Supreme Court requesting that the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) release the NEET PG answer key 2024, along with the question papers and candidates' response sheets. The students raised concerns about the transparency of the NEET PG 2024 results, particularly given the lack of clarity regarding the normalization policy implemented for the first time in the exam's history. The delay in the NEET PG counselling 2024 dates, combined with last-minute changes to the exam and allegations of a paper leak, has left candidates anxious.
