NEET PG Counselling 2026: MD, MS seat matrix out; round 1 portal for PwD candidates from Oct 1

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and the National Medical Commission (NMC) has announced the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG) counselling 2026 seat matrix for MD, MS, DNB, and PG diploma admissions. The MCC will open the NEET PG counselling round 1 registration portal for PwD (Persons with Disabilities) candidates on October 1.

Candidates will be able to access the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG) round 1 registration facility through the official website at mcc.nic.in.

According to an official statement by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the primary medical assessment board will remain open from October 1 at 5 pm to October 9.

PwD category candidates are advised to visit the primary medical assessment centre within the stipulated period and complete their medical assessment within the given timeline.

NEET PG 2026: Seats at pvt, deemed universities up by 32%

“It is further informed that the Appellate Medical Assessment Board will conduct the medical assessment of candidates from 10:00 A.M of 5th Oct, 2026 up to 05:00 P.M of 12th Oct, 2026,” the statement read.

The National Board of Examinations for Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has declared the NEET PG 2026 results for MD, MS and DNB, and PG diploma admissions. Candidates can download the NEET PG 2026 result pdf through the official website at natboard.edu.in.

NBEMS will issue question ID numbers, correct answers, candidates’ recorded/marked responses , and scores awarded for each question on or after October 1.

According to the NEET PG 2026 seat matrix, the total number of MD, MS and diploma seats have increased to 58,000, an 11% increase from previous year’s 52,173 seats.

There is also an increase in the number of private plus deemed universities of 32%, and government medical colleges up to 10%. Branches such as anaesthesia, ophthal, ENT, patho, psych, and resp saw an overall increase in seats for the academic year 2026-27.
