NEET PG Seat Matrix 2026: Colleges to submit e-BG

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has directed medical colleges and institutions approved for new PG courses or increased seat intake to submit the required electronic bank guarantee (e-BG) within seven days of the November 6 public notice.

Institutions must submit the e-BG details in the prescribed format and email them to the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB). The board will issue Letters of Permission-cum-Disapproval (LoP-cum-LoD) for new courses and increased intake only after receiving and verifying the guarantees.

NEET PG counselling authorities to follow revised seat matrix

The NMC has directed central, state and Union Territory NEET PG counselling authorities to use the latest notified PG seat matrix for counselling and admissions.

If authorities find any discrepancy in the approved seat matrix, they must refer the matter to MARB for clarification. NEET PG Counselling authorities cannot permit admissions beyond the seats approved and notified by the board.

Medical colleges have also been asked to verify their details in the revised matrix and report any discrepancy or omission to MARB immediately.

The commission has instructed medical colleges to admit students only against the PG seats approved by MARB for the 2026–27 academic year.

Admissions beyond the approved annual intake or violations of NMC regulations may invite action under the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, and relevant regulations.

The NMC has clarified that the updated NEET PG seat matrix may be revised following subsequent decisions by MARB, the competent appeal authority or any other competent authority. Any revised matrix published on the official website will supersede the earlier version to the extent of the changes.
