NEET UG 2026: NTA asks aspirants to update Aadhaar, UDID, category details before registration

Try NowThe National Testing Agency (NTA) has instructed all National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET UG 2026) aspirants to update their details on Aadhaar UDID and category certificate before registration begins. Candidates should update all documents to avoid any discrepancies, grievances or rejection at a later stage of the NEET UG application 2026.
NTA will soon announce the NEET UG 2026 application and exam dates on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in.
The testing agency has conducted the NEET entrance exam in early May for the last three academic years. Last year, the NEET UG exam was held on May 4 across 552 cities in India and 14 cities abroad.
According to the MBBS seat matrix published by the National Medical Commission (NMC), a total of 11,276 seats have been added this year, with the total count rising to 1,29,026 for admissions. Karnataka has the highest number of 13,944 MBBS seats in India, followed by Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh.
NEET UG Application 2026: Document updation
Candidates must make sure all the details in Aadhaar are accurate, valid and updated in all respects. The list of details that should be clearly mentioned in the candidate's Aadhar card is listed below.
- Name
- Date of Birth
- Gender
- Photograph
- Address
- Biometric Information (wherever applicable)

Candidates who need any correction or have to update their Aadhaar details may do so by following the UIDAI guidelines. For Aadhaar update-related services, candidates can visit the official UIDAI website at myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in. or uidai.gov.in.
For the NEET UG 2026 application, the UDID Card (for Persons with Disabilities) should be valid, updated and renewed, as required. Additionally, category certificates of all category candidates, including EWS, SC, ST, OBC-NCL, should be updated and valid.
