NTA NEET UG result 2025 declared on neet.nta.nic.in for around 20.8 lakh MBBS aspirants

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET UG) result 2025 for around 20.8 lakh MBBS aspirants. NEET UG answer key 2025, response sheets were out on June 3 and candidates were allowed to raise objections by June 5. Based on challenges, the subject experts have released the NEET final answer key 2025.

NTA held NEET UG 2025 as a computer-based test on May 4 from 2 pm to 5 pm at more than 5,400 exam centres. Several aspirants complained of biometric failures, inadequate staff, and other mismanagement issues. Some candidates reportedly fainted while standing in the queue under the scorching sun for hours.

Despite strict measures, a person from Bihar was arrested for promising to provide NEET 2025 question paper in exchange for money. Five persons were arrested from Rajasthan's Jaipur for allegedly attempting to appear in the NEET UG 2025 through forged documents. The Kerala police also launched an investigation into an incident in which a student allegedly appeared for the exam with a fake NEET admit card 2025.

The NEET UG question paper 2025 comprised a total of 180 questions on physics, chemistry, and biology carrying 720 marks. Revising the NEET UG exam pattern 2025, the testing agency had removed the optional questions from section B.

A NEET UG 2025 question left students and parents confused as they claimed two correct options, however, NTA already has a rule that for questions with multiple correct answers, candidates will be given full marks.

As per the NEET UG 2025 marking scheme, candidates have been given four marks for each correct answer, and one mark has been deducted for every incorrect answer.

This year, NTA decided to conduct the exam in pen-and-paper mode on a single day, and in a single shift. It also announced its decision to mandate NEET exam for aspirants of BSc Nursing programme at Armed Forces medical hospitals, starting from 2025-26 session. Moreover, the testing agency clarified that NEET UG 2025 scores will also be applicable to Bachelor of Dental Studies (BDS), and Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc and AH) courses.

The decision came after an expert committee on NTA reforms suggested several changes in NEET UG including multi-stage test, multi-session exam, better allocation of exam centres, computer-assisted pen-and-paper mode exam, digital transfer of question papers, among others. The Ministry of Education formed a high-level committee last year following the widespread controversy over NEET paper leak, clustering of NEET toppers, grace marks, leading to court cases, cancellation of NEET results, conduct of re-test, and revision of results.

NTA holds the NEET exam every year for admission to undergraduate medical courses including MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, and more, offered in medical and dental colleges across the country.
