NIRF Engineering Ranking 2022: IIT Madras is top engineering institution again

NIRF Ranking 2022 Engineering: IIT Madras, IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay are the top three best engineering institutions.
NEW DELHI : The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras is the best engineering institution in the country, according to the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2022 released by education minister Dharmendra Pradhan. IIT Madras has topped the NIRF ranking of engineering colleges since the inception of the NIRF ranking list in 2016.
IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay are the second and third ranked institutions in the NIRF ranking 2022 . IIT Kanpur and IIT Kharagpur, respectively, make up the top ten in the NIRF ranking. Eight of the top ten engineering institutions are IITs and the rest are NITs.
In last year’s rankings, IIT Madras, IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay, respectively, were the top three institutions in the NIRF ranking of engineering colleges.
In NIRF 2022 ranking for architecture, IIT Roorkee, NIT Calicut and IIT Kharagpur retained their place as the top three institutions for architecture in the country.
Education minister Dharmendra Pradhan also released the NIRF ranking for overall , university , medicine , college and B-school .
NIRF was launched on September 29, 2015, to rank Indian universities and colleges based on objective criteria to promote competitive excellence.
The NIRF has 11 categories. These are overall, research institutions, university, engineering, management, pharmacy, colleges, medical, law, architecture and dental. NIRF ranking list is based on the following parameters: teaching, learning and resources , research and professional practice, graduation outcomes, outreach and inclusivity, peer perception. Over 7,000 institutions participated in this year’s NIRF ranking.
