NIT Tiruchirappalli to conduct NIMCET 2025 on June 8; eligibility criteria

The technology institute will conduct the NIMCET 2025 for admission to Master of Computer Applications (MCA) in NITs and the Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) for the academic session 2025-26.
NEW DELHI: National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli (NIT) has announced the exam date for the NIT MCA Common Entrance Test (NIMCET) 2025. The institute will conduct the entrance exam on June 8 for the duration of two hours from 4 pm to 6 pm.
The technology institute will conduct the NIMCET 2025 for admission to Master of Computer Applications (MCA) in NITs and the Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) for the academic session 2025-26.
The MCA courses are offered by the NITs at Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Meghalaya, Patna, Raipur, Tiruchirappalli, Warangal and IIITs at Bhopal and Vadodara.
The engineering entrance test will be held in a computer-based test.

NIMCET 2025: Eligibility, marking scheme
Indian nationals with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale (55% marks or 6 CGPA in case of SC, ST, PwD) in a three-year undergraduate course with mathematics or statistics as one of the subjects or BE/BTech from a recognised university are eligible to apply for the entrance test.
As per the exam pattern, the NIMCET 2025 question paper will be divided into three parts, with a total of 120 multiple choice questions. The duration of exam will be 70 minutes for part 1, 30 minutes for part 2, and 20 minutes for part 3. Part 1 will comprise 50 questions on mathematics, part 2 will consist of 40 questions on analytical ability and logical reasoning, and part 3 will have 20 questions on computer awareness and 10 questions on English.
The exam will be held for a total of 1000 marks and there will be a negative marking of 25% for wrong answers.
