The NMC has released the list as several forged letters of permission have been issued to medical colleges on behalf of Medical Assessment and Rating Board.
NEW DELHI: The National Medical Commission has released the list of medical colleges in which the number of MBBS and PG seats in various medical programmes have been increased. The new UG and PG seats in medical colleges are approved by the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) of the NMC.
The list contains 1,275 medical colleges. The MARB said that it has come to notice that several forged letters of permission (to start admission for new PG and UG seats) have been issued to various medical colleges on behalf of the member or president of the board even though no such communications have been sent to the colleges in this regard.
The board said it has released the list of colleges with total number of seats ( undergraduate and postgraduate ) after approval by the MARB for academic year 2023-24. It has also asked the authorities concerned to take necessary action if a college has received the forged document on behalf of the MARB.
Only colleges mentioned in the list have been granted approval of new PG or UG seats, renewal or letter of permission to start medical classes for the academic year 2023-24, the board added.
It appealed to the authorities concerned and the public to not take any action based on the fake letter of permission . “In case of any discrepancies noticed by any stakeholders or public, then those may be brought to the notice of MARB of the NMC immediately so that necessary action can be taken in such matters without any delay,” the board said.
The stakeholders and public can check the colleges mentioned in the list using this direct link .
