NEW DELHI: Delhi University's Hindu College issued an advisory to all students, faculty and staff regarding the valedictory function of the centenary celebrations tomorrow, June 30. In order to ensure maximum participation, the college has made it mandatory for all stakeholders to attend the live telecast of the programme in their respective colleges.
To facilitate this, the programme will be streamed live in the Sanganeria Auditorium, enabling students and staff to witness the proceedings. The college emphasizes the importance of student presence during the live streaming of the event and advises students to arrive at their colleges by the beginning of the first period, between 8:50 AM and 9 AM, to avoid any disruptions caused by traffic diversion within the DU campus.

As per the advisory, first-year classes will be suspended between 10 AM and 12 noon. Students need to carry their identity cards for identification purposes. Additionally, students are instructed not to wear black attire to the event tomorrow.
Attendance during the live streaming is mandatory for students and as an incentive students will be granted five attendances which will be submitted to their respective colleges. Students are required to sign their attendance with Mr Puran Chand (BSc PS) or Mr Kaushal Paliwal (BSc (H) SrLab Staff) in the Sanganeria Auditorium.
The Hindu College's advisory aims to ensure widespread participation and engagement in the valedictory function, which marks a significant milestone in the centenary celebrations. The presence of PM Modi further adds to the significance of the event. The university urges all students to adhere to the guidelines and actively participate in the live streaming of the programme.

However, the Student Federation of India (SFI) at Delhi University has strongly criticized certain notices released about the valedictory function of the centenary celebrations of the university. As per SFI, the notices which have raised concerns, are seen as an attempt to segregate a particular community.
The SFI condemns such dictatorial directives from colleges, stating that it curbs dissent within educational spaces. It also finds it outrageous that the administration would make the presence of all students mandatory during the event and impose restrictions on their attire. The offer of five attendances as an incentive for attendance further raises concerns about the university's commitment to providing quality education.
