No change in JEE Advanced syllabus, clarifies IIT Delhi

Download EBookNEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IITD) which is the organizing institute for JEE Advanced 2020 has issued a clarification that there are no plans to change the syllabus for the entrance exam. This is a clarification with reference to media reports on change in syllabus and exam pattern for the exam.

IITD’s clarification
“In reference to a news report published in the media that JEE (Advanced) 2020 could see some changes in the examination pattern, IIT Delhi, the organising institute, would like to clarify that there are no plans to change the syllabus of the entrance examination. There is also no plan to discuss this matter in the next JAB meeting.
As of now, JEE (Advanced) 2020 is scheduled to be held on September 27, 2020.”
JEE Advanced is the entrance exam for admissions to the undergraduate programmes offered by the 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). The entrance test is a computer based one with two mandatory papers comprising of questions from physics, mathematics and chemistry. The top 2.5 lakh students who qualify JEE Main are eligible to apply for the entrance exam.
Relaxation in eligibility criteria
In a recent decision announced by the HRD minister, the eligibility criteria for admissions to the IITs have been relaxed. Students who have passed class 12 and qualified in JEE Advanced 2020 will be eligible to apply for the IIT admission process. As in the previous years, they need not obtain 75% or more in their class 12 to be eligible.
