NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will hold the JEE Main 2023 session 1 exam from today, January 24. The JEE Main January 2023 exam is set to be held in multiple exam centres in 290 cities across the country and 18 cities outside. The JEE Main 2023 session 1 exam will be conducted in two shifts -- the first from 9 am to 12 noon and the second between 3 pm to 6 pm. The reporting time for the JEE Mains starting at 9 am is 7 am and for the second shift is 1 pm. Carrying the JEE Main 2023 admit card is mandatory to the exam centre. JEE Main 2023 is held for two papers. While paper 1, or BE, BTech paper, will be held on January 24, 25, 29, 30, 31 and February 1, the BArch (paper 2A) and BPlanning (paper 2B) will be held on January 28, 2023. The JEE exam will be held for multiple choice questions (MCQs) and numerical questions.

Candidates will have to carry the JEE Mains admit card 2023 to the exam centre. The admit card containing exam day guidelines for candidates that are to be followed on the day of tests, also has a JEE Main self-declaration form. Candidates must hand over the JEE Main 2023 admit card, self-declaration form and the rough pages used during exams to the invigilator at the end of the exam.

Along with the JEE Main 2023 admit card, applicants taking the exam today must carry any one of original and valid photo identification proof. A valid photo id proof maybe school identity card, PAN card, driving license, voter id, passport, aadhaar card with photograph, e-aadhaar with photograph, ration card with photograph, Class 12 board exam admit card with photograph or bank passbook with photograph.

No specific JEE Main dress code 2023 will have to be followed but shoes and footwear with thick soles, and garments with large buttons will not be allowed inside the exam centre.

Meanwhile, NTA has withheld the candidature of those applicants who have filled multiple JEE Main 2023 application forms for the January session exam. The exam for such candidates, NTA said, is not scheduled on January 24 and 25, 2023. As per the NTA statement issued on Monday, January 23, the candidature of such candidates has been kept on hold and their applications are being scrutinized. The candidates have been informed by mail to clarify their position with a justified representation and will only be allowed to appear for JEE Main 2023 in the current session after their identity is established by them.
