JEE Main 2026: NTA issues advisory for BTech aspirants; asks to update Aadhaar, UDID, category certificates

The testing agency has instructed the BTech, BArch and BPlanning aspirants to update their Aadhar, UDID card, category certificate (EWS, SC, ST, OBC-NCL) in advance to avoid discrepancies in the online application form.

The NTA has also announced that it will conduct the JEE (Mains) 2026 session 1 exams in January 2026, and session 2 in April 2026. The JEE Main 2026 application form for session 1 will be available at the NTA’s official website at jeemain.nta.nic.in in October 2025.
The testing agency conducts the JEE Main entrance exams twice a year to admit students for engineering, pharmacy and planning programmes at various colleges across the country.

JEE Main 2026 college entrance exams
“To streamline the process for JEE (Main) 2026, all eligible aspirants are advised to ensure that the following documents are updated well in advance/ before applying for the JEE (Main)-2026, in order to avoid any discrepancies, grievances or rejection at a later stage,” according to the official statement by the NTA.
The Aadhaar card should be updated with the correct name, date of birth (as per class 10th certificate), latest photograph, address and father’s name. Moreover, UDID cards for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates. It should be valid, updated and renewed as required.
The category certificate for candidates belonging to the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC) - Non Creamy Layer (NCL) should be updated and valid.
In addition, further notification, instructions, and notices related to JEE Mains 2026 will be updated on the official website of the NTA.
