The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the JEE Mains 2026 session 2 afternoon shift exam from 3 pm to 6 pm today. As per analysis report of morning shift, the subject-wise difficulty was as given below.
The computer-based JEE Mains 2026 session 2 morning shift exam, which included both numerical value questions and MCQs, was conducted for three hours, and was worth 300 marks.

The Physics section in the JEE Mains 2026 session 2 shift 1 paper was easy to moderate in difficulty, as per subject experts. It was easier than Maths and most students were able to complete the Physics section within 45 to 50 minutes, the analysis report said.
“Most questions were direct and formula based. ● Students were able to solve most of the questions without much difficulty. Overall, Physics was less time-consuming and a high-scoring section for students,” the report added.

Though the Maths section was moderate in difficulty, it was tougher than Physics and Chemistry. The analysis report by the subject experts also states that the Maths section was easier than April 2 and 4 shifts.
Students find the Maths section lengthier and time-consuming than other sections. Questions asked in the Maths section of the JEE Mains 2026 session 2 morning shift were from the topics given below.
The Chemistry section in the JEE Mains 2026 session 2 April 5 morning shift was easier than Maths and Physics. The section contained statement-based questions from organic and inorganic chemistry.
“The weightage of physical chemistry is less compared to organic and inorganic Chemistry. Overall, the weightage of the three sections is Inorganic>organic>physical,” as per subject experts.
