The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026 re-examination tomorrow, June 21 across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad. The medical entrance test will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode from 2 pm to 5:15 pm.

Candidates have been advised to reach their examination centres by 1:30 pm after that no applicant will be allowed to enter. The agency has also put in place enhanced security measures, including biometric verification and frisking at examination centres.

NTA has urged students to rely only on official information and follow all instructions mentioned on their admit cards to ensure smooth conduct of the examination.

NEET UG 2026 re-exam: Do’s

Candidates must carry a printed copy of their admit card, a valid photo identity proof and passport-size photographs required for attendance-related formalities. They should also verify the exact examination centre address mentioned on the admit card before travelling.

As per NTA guidelines, candidates are allowed to carry a transparent water bottle inside the examination centre. Students wearing customary or religious attire have been advised to report early as additional security checks may take time.

NEET UG re-exam 2026: Don’ts

Candidates are not permitted to carry mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, calculators, earphones or any other electronic gadgets inside the examination hall. Items such as geometry boxes, pencil boxes, pouches and other unauthorised materials are also prohibited.

The agency has cautioned students against believing rumours or unofficial claims related to paper leaks and examination irregularities. Candidates have been asked to report suspicious messages or fraudulent claims through official channels.

NEET UG 2026 re-exam: Dress code

Male candidates are advised to wear simple, light-coloured clothes without metallic accessories, while female candidates should opt for plain and easily inspectable attire with minimal jewellery or embellishments. Footwear should be simple, such as sandals or slip-on shoes, and candidates wearing religious attire should report early for additional security screening as per NTA guidelines. Candidates are also advised to avoid carrying prohibited items, as this may lead to extended checks or denial of entry.

NEET UG 2026 re-test under tight security

The June 21 re-examination will be conducted under enhanced monitoring and security arrangements. NTA has introduced biometric authentication, CCTV surveillance and other safeguards to ensure the fair conduct of the examination.

More than 22 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the re-examination, which is being held after the cancellation of the earlier NEET UG 2026 test.
