Re-NEET Dress Code 2026: Are wrist watches allowed? prohibited items rules

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued the guidelines for the re-NEET UG 2026 examination regarding dress code and permissible items inside the exam hall. The NTA will conduct the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) on June 21 for admission to MBBS, BDS, and AYUSH programmes at government and private medical colleges.

As per the NTA’s advisory for MBBS aspirants over permissible items, candidates can carry transparent water bottles inside the re-NEET UG 2026 exam hall.

“Candidates can carry their admit card in transparent plastic pouches to avoid damage due to rains,” it said.

Re-NEET UG 2026 on June 21

According to the dress code guidelines for re-NEET UG 2026 exam, candidates are allowed to wear articles or objects of faith (including religious symbols, kalawas, turbans, hijabs, or similar items), “subject to reporting at the examination centre well in advance to facilitate thorough frisking by examination staff.”

“All candidates will be subject to mandatory frisking before entry. Candidates are advised to report at the centre at the scheduled reporting time to facilitate smooth security checks without undue stress,” NTA said.

Dress code, other guidelines for MBBS aspirants

Moreover, metallic items, including large belt buckles, heavy jewellery, and accessories are also not permitted inside the examination hall.

The testing agency advised the candidates to wear light clothes. They may wear full-sleeve garments or woollen if required. Candidates must reach at their allotted re-NEET UG 2026 examination centre well in advance to spare time for the frisking process, NTA said.

It is advisable to wear slippers and low-heeled footwear. However, candidates wearing high-heeled footwear may be subjected to additional checks, it added.

Items such as electronic devices, including mobile phones, smartwatches, bluetooth accessories, earphones, or any communication device are prohibited inside the re-NEET UG 2026 examination hall.
