NEW DELHI: In response to the prevailing communal tension and threats to public order in neighbouring district Nuh, all schools and colleges in Gurugram and Faridabad district will remain closed today, August 1. The decision comes as roads have been blocked by anti-social elements, raising concerns about the safety and security of students and staff.

The district administration has issued a stern directive to all educational institutions to strictly adhere to these orders for the safety and well-being of students and the community. The closure aims to prevent any unexpected incidents and disturbances in the region amid the ongoing unrest in the neighbouring district.

Parents and students are advised to stay updated with the latest announcements from local authorities. Authorities are working diligently to ensure peace and tranquillity in the region and will continue to monitor the situation closely.

The decision to close educational institutions has been taken as a precautionary measure to maintain peace and harmony in Gurugram and Faridabad districts. All educational activities are expected to resume as usual once the situation is safe and stable.

The main reason for the school close is that in Haryana's Nuh district, two home guards and a civilian lost their lives, while 10 police officers sustained injuries during clashes with a mob that attempted to halt a Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) procession on Monday. The situation escalated as stones were thrown and cars were set on fire during the confrontation between the two groups.

The violence's impact extended to adjoining Gurugram district's Sohna, where mobs set fire to four vehicles and a shop. Furthermore, protesters blocked a road for an extended period in Nuh.
