18,000 students miss Odisha Class 10 SA 2 board exam 2023: Report

NEW DELHI: At least 18,000 students did not appear for the Odisha Class 10 summative assessment-2 exam 2023. The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Odisha commenced SA 2 exams 2023 for Odisha Class 10 matriculation students on March 10.

As per the SA 2 exam date 2023 Odisha, the Class 10 board exams 2023 will continue till March 20. The Odisha Board is holding the exam in one shift from 8 AM to 10 AM.
“Since the government has waived the fees this year, it is obvious that the student would not find it compelling to appear at the examination and may drop out of it,” the Hindustan Times report quoted school education minister Samir Ranjan Dash.
He also informed that the department will take up the matter seriously and find the cause.

BSE 10th SA-2 admit card was recently issued to the board exams 2023 students on the official website, bseodisha.ac.in. The board is conducting the Odisha Class 10 exam in two terms. The Odisha summative assessment-1 exam was conducted from November 23 to November 30 and the results were declared in January 2023.
Nearly 30 percent of students dropout of Odisha schools , as per the data from the schools as provided by the District Education Officers (DEOs) last year in May. A review by the School and Mass Education Department also found that many students passing out of Class 8 are not taking admission in Class 9.
Meanwhile, over 50 students appearing for the Odisha Class 10 board exams 2023 and their teachers were injured after being stung by a swarm of bees on their way to the exam centre in Keonjhar district on March 13.
