Over 2.3 lakh Uttar Pradesh schoolgirls receive self-defense training

As per the UP Basic Education Department's official tweet, a total of 2,33,035 schoolgirls have been given training by sports instructors so far.
NEW DELHI: Department of Basic Education, Uttar Pradesh, announced self-defense training for girl students in 1,000 schools in the state on the occasion of International Women's Day celebrated on March 8. As per the UP Basic Education Department's official tweet, over 2.3 lakh schoolgirls (2,33,035) have been given training by sports instructors so far.
"Self-defense training is being given to girl students in one thousand schools of the state by sports instructors. And 2,33,035 girl students have been given training through this," the official tweet reads.

A self-defence training program was introduced last year as part of phase 4 of Mission Shakti by the state government. As part of Mission Shakti, self-defense training is provided to girls so they can ensure their safety and well-being, as well as their physical and mental independence.
