NEW DELHI, March 18: The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, has begun the online registration process for the July session entrance examination. Aspirants who will fulfil the eligibility criteria set by the authority will be able to fill the form online till April 18, 2019. Only those whose applications will be accepted by the authority will be able to successfully download the admit card in the last week of April. PGIMER 2019, a computer-based test will contain 250 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and only three hours will be allotted to complete the test. The exam is scheduled to be conducted on May 26, 2019.
Who is eligible to apply?
Aspirants need to meet the eligibility criteria so as to apply for the post-graduate entrance examination. The terms of the eligibility criteria of PGIMER 2019 are listed below.
Educational Qualification: Candidates applying for the entrance exam are required to complete their MBBS degree from a Medical Council of India (MCI) recognized institution.
Internship: Candidates are required to complete the rotatory one-year internship mandatorily by June 20, 2019.
Other: Candidates must possess a registration certificate from the Medical Council of India (MCI) or State Medical Council (SMC).
Stepwise guide to fill the application form
Step 1: Registration
To fill the PGIMER application form 2019, visit the official website and go to the ‘Apply Now’ tab to begin the process of registration. In the following step, candidates will be required to fill in ‘Personal’ and ‘Category’ details and then click on the ‘Continue’ button.
Step 2: Generation of Application Number
An application number will be generated which will also be sent to the candidates’ registered email IDs and mobile numbers. Candidates must retain their unique application number and password for future logins.
Step 3: Filling the form
The next step requires the candidates to click on the 'Click here to fill educational information' button and fill in all the personal and qualifying examination details. Once correctly filled in, candidates need to click on the ‘Submit’ button.
Step 4: Uploading documents
Aspirants need to upload the scanned images according to the specifications given by the authority. Candidates must ensure that all the images are in the required format and size or else these will not be accepted.
Step 5: Payment of the Application Fee
In the next step, candidates are required to pay the PGIMER 2019 application form fee. Candidates belonging to unreserved and OBC category need to pay Rs 1000/-. SC and ST category candidates need to pay Rs 800/-. PwD candidates do not need to pay any application fee.
Step 6: Final Submission
The details of fee submission will be updated on the application form. Candidates must take a printout of the updated form by using their login ID and keep it for future reference as it will be required at the time of counselling.
